Rugby Town Juniors 5 Tamworth 1
“One of the best first half games I have seen for years” was a comment made by a ground hopper on his first visit to Kilsby Lane.
He was not wrong as this talented Youth side progressed to the next round of the County Cup with a first half demolition job of a decent Tamworth side.
Rugby Town (current table toppers of the Southern Premier Division) set about their task right from the word go, and hit the front within 5 mins when a through ball from Redhead ended up at the feet of Idedevbos, and he smashed it home. Some great passing and running off the ball made Tamworth look very ordinary, and it was no surprise when Redhead volleyed home on 20 minutes. Idedevbo headed the 3rd after some great play from the back. Tamworth with their only shot on target in the first half, pulled one back but the the juggernaut of Rugby Town rolled on.  JC hitting a free kick into the top corner and Jack Warmington picking his spot from 18 yards out.
And that was Half Time, and effectively the game.
Town made three substitutions and no further goals in the second half. Credit to Tamworth for their second half performance, but the damage was done in a rampaging and very classy first half.
The Youth have no game next week but are back in action on the 16th when they host unbeaten Bromsgrove at Kilsby Lane 7.45KO
