ASDA come up trumps to boost the Community

19/7/2010 - Latest News

asda_gift_smallOfficials at Rugby Town JFC were celebrating this week when the ASDA Foundation awarded the club a grant of £35,000. The grant was awarded for the clubs Astro Turf Project at its Kilsby Lane site.

Club project leader Brian Crinigan stated we are extremely grateful to the Asda Foundation for considering our project and awarding us the grant. The additional facilities at Kilsby Lane will enhance the clubs development and with it the development of players of all ages. This project is also extremely important for our Disabled Squad who can now use these outdoor facilities. The Facility will also be accessible to the wider communities including Schools and other sport groups. We also have a lot of parents who are employed at the ASDA Store in Rugby and on the Distribution site at Magna Park and that was a vital consideration when the Foundation made their decision.

Kirstin French (Events Co-ordinator at ASDA IDC) said we were happy to support such a worthwhile project as it was Community lead with links into all parts of the community. We wish the club well for the future.

The project which includes 3 Astro Turf 3g pitches will be floodlit and be used for Coaching Courses, 5 a-side football leagues, and other sports.

The Asda Foundation believe in supporting the local causes our colleagues get behind, helping to make a difference to your local community.

For us, sharing their passion is the ideal way to give something back to the communities that support us. That is why we set up the Asda Foundation, which through a range of projects supports good causes across the UK.
The Asda Foundation is our charitable company which was set up in 1988 to support local good causes chosen by our colleagues, and is funded by profits from the mid–week national lottery.

We see the Asda foundation as one of the many ways to give something back to the communities that support us. That’s why we lend a hand to the wide range of good causes with which our colleagues are involved.
