Coventrians U18 Youth v Rugby Town Juniors U18 Youth

Coventry & Warwickshire Youth League

Coventrians U18 Youth 6-1 Rugby Town JFC U18 Youth
Rugby, sponsored by Vasstech, opened the scoring after 5 minutes when Gabriel Fernandes
exchanged passes with Taran Somel on the right wing, cut inside and when his shot came back off
the post Tristan Birch was on hand to fire in the rebound. The unbeaten league leaders were kept at
bay for 20 minutes by some great defending by Harry Keble and Aidan Hobley with Viraj Parmar
pulling off some fine saves. Coventrians went 3-1 up before Rugby lost Oliver Gibbs to injury and
with no subs available played the remainder of the game with 10 men.
Despite being 4-1 down Rugby started the second half brightly with Maris Kazakevics and Samuel
Collins combining well in midfield. Birch and Fernandes were both denied by the Coventrians
keeper, the later after a great Collins through ball. Coventrians extended their lead and were
comfortable winners despite a battling performance from Rugby.
