Lions, class of 2017/18, faced a severe examination in a pulsating game with Madrid. Harry Marson brought off a great save early in the game before Lions won a free kick just outside Madrid’s box.

George Newbold bent a wonderful ball around the wall, then Luke Chow flew down the right wing, cut inside and let fly with a screamer. Whilst Madrid were busy, Charlie Whittle, freed momentarily from defensive duties, and the silky skilled Aidan Lynch, played some great football.

Bobby Linnecor was causing their defence problems; Ollie Broad was a powerhouse in midfield; Elijah Robinson hit the post with a trademark long shot.

Ian (Headmaster) Lynch’s report – A* to all players for sportsmanship, endeavour and skill.
