Nike Visit Rugby Town JFC for Training Session with Brad Guzan

Aston Villa and USA Goalkeeper Brad Guzan dropped in on a training session with three Nike Partner Clubs. Players from Rugby Town JFC enjoyed a series of interactive training drills with the Premier League Goalkeeper as part of their Nike Partner Club benefits package.

Brad worked with the coaches providing advice and feedback to players, this was of particular interest to the Goalkeepers in attendance who were able to learn some valuable lessons from the experienced Guzan. Following the training session, a Question and Answer session was carried out to get an understanding of Brads rise from Grassroots in America to the Premier League as wells as his thoughts on the Nike Partner Club Programme.

The Nike Partner Club initiative serves to raise standards at the grassroots level, something that Brad Guzan is particularly passionate about: “I think in this country the FA and Premier League are doing a great job with grassroots level coaching, but there’s always room for improvement.

“It’s so important for kids in particular to enjoy their football, and the better level of coaching they receive, the more likely that this will happen. Players who are enjoying their football are more likely to see quicker progress and development within their game.

“With the support of Nike and The FA, The Nike Partner Club Initiative provides a great opportunity for teams to develop and grow ensuring that England continue to progress as a footballing nation throughout all levels.”
