Kenilworth Town Junior U17 6 -1 RUGBY TOWN U17 COLTS (sponsored by Hi-Speed Services Ltd)

Colts did not get the result their performance deserved in an entertaining game against Kenilworth Juniors.

Colts started brightly creating a number of chances, Henry King fired into the side netting and Darek Kuberka had a volley saved. Colts defence of Dionrae Reid, Freddie Stephenson, Robert Adams and Matthew Warburton (in goal) fought hard and limited Kenilworth’s opportunities. But the chances they did have they converted and Colts found themselves four goals down. Colts heads did not drop and Stephenson finished from close range following a throw to make the half time score 4-1.

Colts started the second half well. The midfield of King, Jacob McCormack, Luke Newey, Adam Fry, Sam Coulter and Jake Smith battled well and a good passing move resulted in Kuberka’s shot being cleared off the line.  King, Coulter and Kuberka also had shots well saved. Charlie Trayford and Kuberka chased and harried all game.  Warburton was called on to make a series of fine stops, but Colts were unable to stop Kenilworth extending their lead.

The final score was 6-1 which was not representative of Colts efforts on a blustery day.
