RTJFC U10 Pumas vs Alvis – Sunday 9 September 2018

Rugby Town U10 Puma’s sponsored by Ideal Factory travelled to Alvis for their first league match of the season, with spirits high following a good preseason. The match started evenly with both sides passing the ball and finding space to create good goal scoring opportunities. It was Alvis that converted the first of these with a through ball to split the Puma’s defence, although the match remained even with Charley Burton settling things before half time, creating the opportunity by pressing high on the Alvis defence allowing them no time to clear, and he nicked the ball to score past the Alvis keeper.

Alvis started the stronger in the second half and were starting to generate more possession due to the pressing football they were playing, allowing The Puma’s less time on the ball, which meant that the Puma’s ended up winning the ball and passing it straight back to Alvis! There were extended periods of the second half that The Puma’s created excellent goal scoring opportunities, one of which they converted, but Alvis’ press and excellent shape ensured that they had the bragging rights.
