Kilsby Lane in November and it is milder than on some summer days. The pitch is perfect (Lions thank you Mr Groundsman). No George Newbold. Luke Chow asks, “Who will take free kicks then?”

Baginton start well, controlling the game and pressurising Lions, who are on the back foot. A smart clearance from goalie Harry Marson to Charlie Whittle, who dances down the wing, passes to Aidan Lynch and the stranglehold is broken.

Baginton are in no mood to hand the game to Lions and attack. Elijah Robinson, Olly Broad and Luke get their tackles in, win the ball and play it forward quickly as Lions look to

counter attack. Bobby Linnecor is clinical in his forward play. The final whistle brings smiles and handshakes all round from the players and appreciation of both teams’ efforts from all supporters.

Football played by both teams as it should be, for enjoyment.
