Coventry & Warwickshire U7 / U8 Football League

Coventry Sphinx provided the opposition for the last match of the season and in an exciting end to end game, Lions had to be at their best to compete with quality opponents.
Lions began brightly with Aidan Lynch and Bobby Linnecor going close with superb efforts. Elijah Robinson started and finished the first meaningful move of the match, which included great interplay between Luke Chow and Ollie Broad. Sphinx hit back strongly and claimed the reward their attacking play deserved.

With honours even after the first half, Lions came into their own in the second. The Sphinx keeper was in sparkling form, but Harry Marson, Lions goalie, was equally adept, which gave Charlie Whittle and George Newbold a licence to venture forward from defence to pepper the Sphinx goal. Despite their best efforts Sphinx were unable to breakdown the resolute Lions’ defence.

A splendid game to end the league season.
