The Tigers have had a great season, winning four tournaments and finishing runners up at Daventry Town. The Tigers were handed a tough group, but a 4-0 (Max 3, William) win against Lawford got them going before two tight matches against strong sides Santos Volts and FFA Gold. A 1-1 (Max) draw with Santos was followed by a 1-1 (Lewis) draw with FFA and meant victory in the last match against Bugbrooke Whites would guarantee passage into the knockout stages. Despite falling behind, the Tigers rallied to win 3-1 (Max 2, William).
The Quarter Final against Hillmorton Clarets finished 1-1 (Max) at full time after the Tigers once again came back from behind, sending the game to golden goal. A great through ball from Gabriel sent Max clear and he beat the keeper.
The Semi Final against Santos Blacks was a repeat of the Quarter Final, The Tigers coming back to equalise in normal time before Max hit the golden goal within 30 seconds of extra time.
Throughout the day Arjan was fantastic in goal, making numerous saves to keep the Tigers in the tournament including vital saves in extra time in the quarter and semi finals. Olly was a rock in defence, stopping attack after attack against some strong teams and talented boys. In midfield William, Henry, Lewis and Gabriel were superb, tackling back, attacking quickly and passing well at speed, tremendous stamina in testing conditions.
The Final matched the Tigers against Santos Volts, despite conceding an early goal the Tigers grew into the match and deservedly equalised with a penalty from Max after he was fouled in the area, on to golden goal again! This time a thunderbolt from Santos settled the tie, but the Tigers can be proud of the effort and results all season.
