Pumas didn’t deserve to win but the score line was very harsh. Trailing 5-4 after 55 minutes, the game was really still there for the taking, but a soft 6th for Sphinx affected the lads and the heads dropped after that and our hosts scored a further 3 late goals.

Missing a couple of key players meant a shift in the formation and the lads struggled to come to terms with it. Pumas started very positively hitting the bar after 1 minute and scoring 2 early goals through Jamie and a Thai penalty. Sphinx hit back with 2 goals from corners and 2 goals from individual Pumas mistakes when in possession. Yaqubs shot was then parried for Thai to finish. Half Time 4-3

All to play for second half and Pumas started well keeping the pressure on only for Sphinx to score on the break. Thai soon pulled one back with a good finish from outside the box. Then Sphinx stretched their lead and Pumas were beaten. Lessons learnt we hope and we will see how the team bounces back next week when they start their defence of the Bedworth Nursing Cup
