Sunday Youth Cup Rugby Town JFC U18 v Bilton Ajax JFC U18 – Sunday 12 December 2018

Sunday Youth Cup Rugby Town JFC U18 5-3 Bilton Ajax JFC U18

Rugby entertained local rivals Ajax on a typically windy morning at Kilsby Lane and it was the hosts
who took the lead with two early goals. Taran Somel fired low across the keeper into the bottom
corner from an Oliver Sewell through ball and minutes later Sewell finished well from a Jacob Seccull
free kick. Ajax worked their way back into the game and scored two late goals to level the scores at
the break, the first from the spot.
Five minutes into the second half Ethan Fletcher fired Rugby back in front, a lead they held until the
75 th minute. However, straight from the kick off Rugby broke down the left and after Liam Waleczek
had chipped the keeper Tristan Birch forced the ball over the line. There were some nervy moments
before Rugby secured the win in the last minute when Birch coolly flicked home from a Sewell cross.
