RUGBY TOWN COLTS (Sponsored by Hi-Speed Services Ltd) 6 – 1 Attleborough Sports

Colts hit six for the second week in a row to take maximum points against their previously unbeaten opponents from Nuneaton.

Kristian Kostowski broke clear to open the scoring before Darek Kuberka’s corner flew straight in at the near post to double the lead and give Colts confidence to play their natural passing game.

Midfielders Sam Boazman, Henry King and Jacob McCormack started to take control as the visitors lost a little discipline, but Attleborough’s neat approach play was always a threat and was rewarded when they broke clear to pull one back.

However Lewis Holmes restored Rugby’s two-goal advantage with a superb finish from the edge of the box to make it 3-1 at the break.

Attleborough maintained their threat in the second half, and, despite some solid defending from Rob Adams, Jake Smith and Charlie Trayford, goalkeeper Matthew Warburton was called into action to make a number of fine reaction saves.

At the other end Adam Fry slotted in from a tight angle to extend the lead as Colts continued to create some good opportunities of their own.

Ross Wheatley capped a commanding midfield performance by finding the corner with a long-range drive to make it 5-1, before Fin Hamill stabbed-in from close range to complete a thoroughly well-deserved victory.
