Under 10s - Parents Newsletter #1
| 6th September 2008 - Latest News | NEWSLETTER #1
Thanks very much for signing on for 2008-2009. We hope both you and your son will enjoy yourselves this next season – our last at Mini Soccer level.
A few things to discuss......
TRAINING Saturday training will be at Whitehall Rec (Ken Marriott Centre) until further notice. Time : 10am to 11:30 – or unless otherwise told by your coach.
We are still trying to finalise a midweek training session. I’ll let everyone know when we fix something up.
MATCHES
Home games will take place at Kilsby Lane on a Sunday morning. These are the current fixture dates. Luckily we are all scheduled to play home on the same day and are all away on the same day so it’s easier for us to organise.
Sep 7th Away* Dec 21st Home Sep 21st Home Jan 4th Away Oct 5th Away Jan 18th Home Oct 19th Away Feb 1st Home Nov 2nd Home Feb 15th Away Nov 16th Away Mar 1st Home Nov 30th Home Mar 15th Away
* except Harriers - playing 28th Sept instead.
KIT
The kit is yours to keep. However, it is meant to last two seasons, if you do leave the club during or after this season I’d ask if you could please return the top for the lads next season – just the top though.
SHOP
There is going to be shop opening at Kilsby Lane – it’s just inside the main door on the left.
Obviously as the kit is for two seasons I’ve had to go on the large side for everyone. If this is just too large the Shop will be open on Sundays from Sunday 14th September (times to be confirmed) where you can purchase additional kit, waterproofs, tracksuits, hats, scarves, training tops and the kitchen sink (maybe!).
FEES
A reminder from the club: the final payment for the year is due at the end of September. Please feel free to hand it to me after training any time between now and then.
SPONSORSHIP
Many, many thanks to our sponsors this year - in alphabetical order :
Arrow Engineering Exclusive Kitchens and Bathrooms Experience Hair Design Keltruck Rainbow Catering
Without their help and support we would not have been able to provide any of the kit the lads have got. Thanks also to the parents involved for helping to sort this out. The kit looks fantastic.
LOTTERY TICKETS
As you know the club runs a Lotto competition. I have specially printed tickets given to me by the club to sell to you. If you would like to buy one – or even club together and buy one with your loose change – then please see me after training. If possible though I’d love a volunteer to come forward who could just take the books around the parents before and just after training to sell the odd one or two.
DRINKS
A reminder: could you please ensure your son remembers to bring along enough drink to last him through the session. Anything non-fizzy is great. Lads are still forgetting to bring something which means they are potentially running around for nearly two hours with no liquid going in.
I think this will do for now. I can’t think of anything else for the moment. Enjoy the kit and your first games.
